Although it’s really not the most difficult chore in the world, we don’t think anyone really does like doing laundry – Do they? We’re always looking for new and improved ways to wash our clothes, and we just discovered these 8 great DIY tips at the Good House Keeping website that make doing laundry so much easier!

First of all, organizing your laundry room in an efficient manner is paramount! Why not add a few vertical shelves beside the washer to hold your laundry detergents, stain removers, and fabric softeners? This way, you’ll save space and you’ll have everything you need within arm’s reach.

Make sure you sort your laundry into whites, colours, and darks. An easy way to do this is to use three stacked baskets in a rolling basket dresser!

Don’t forget to clean your lint trap after every load. A clean lint trap is an efficient one! Another wonderful trick is, if you don’t really have room for a large garbage can, why not invest in a small bin that you can hang beside your dryer? Voila, you’ve got a lint receptacle that won’t take up a lot of space.

And just for fun, why not pour your soaps into transparent glass dispensers? The lovely blue soap looks so much prettier than unsightly plastic bottles.

If you think ironing is a waste of time that takes up far too much space, then you might not know about the portable magnetic ironing mat that you can just fold up after you’re done. It’s easy to use and it can fit right on top of your washer or dryer. Yee-haw! No more bulky, hard-to-store ironing boards to contend with. Want to learn more of these laundry room DIYs?
