Brushing up on your cleaning skills? Want to learn some excellent tips and tricks from the experts? Well here’s an excellent article gives you 11 cleaning secrets to steal from hotel maids! When I was 18 and had just moved out of my parents’ house for the first time, I got a housekeeping job at a local hotel. It was hot, sweaty, backbreaking work, but I sure learned a lot about cleaning, and a lot about human nature too. It was my first experience at the university of life. One that I will never forget!

The first thing I learned was how to make a bed properly – so properly, in fact, that you could bounce a quarter off of it, exactly like how you do it in the army. And then I learned how to properly stuff pillows into their pillowcases, too. And to very carefully fold the toilet paper into a V-shape so it would look nice.I also learned how to leave chocolates on the beds for the VIP guests… And guess what? I learned how to eat them, too!

But in all seriousness, this is a great article with some very helpful tips on how to clean more efficiently. For example, do you struggle with making your bed after you’ve washed the sheets? The hotel maid experts tell us the tag is always at the bottom of the sheet, so this is your reference point from now on. No more putting the sheets on sideways or upside down – whew!

Another great secret is to keep all of your cleaning supplies together in a big bucket or some kind of mini trolley, just as hotel housekeepers do. This way you’ll have everything you need and won’t have to keep running back to the cleaning closet.
